Cabba was a Force-sensitive Saiyan male who served the Galactic Republic as a Jedi Knight. Born on the Outer Rim planet of Sadala, Cabba and his mother were slaves to a prominent crime lord. Soon thereafter, during the Naboo Crisis, he was discovered by Jedi Master Renso, who freed Cabba from slavery, bringing him into the Jedi Order.

In the years leading up to the Separatist Crisis, Cabba was apprenticed to Hit. Following the events of the Battle of Geonosis—the opening engagement which sparked the devastating, galaxy-wide conflict known as the Clone Wars—Cabba began to have feeling for his childhood friend, Padawan Cus. As the war progressed, Cabba and Cus grew closer to each other, prizing the moments the two shared with one another.

Towards the end of the war, Cabba was made a Jedi Knight. This blissful moment proved to be short-lived, however, as a few days later Order 66 was used by Chancellor Kann to destroy the Jedi. After surviving his assassination attempt, Cabba would inform Hit that Korn betrayed the Jedi, now under the name of Darth Vader, him and Cus went to confront Korn on the planet of Mustafar until Hit arrived. After Hit's duel with the Sith Lord, Vados gave birth, knowing that the boy would in danger if he stayed with his parents, Hit entrusted Cabba to take care of his newborn son, Mira, who he took to live with him and Cus on the planet Tatooine. During his exile on the planet, Cabba trained the young Mira under the ways of the Force.

Seventeen years after the duel on Mustafar, Cabba, Cus and Mira joined the Rebel alliance after feeling the destruction of Alderaan through the Force. After the Battle of Yavin, Cabba reunited with former Master to guide to Rebel Alliance to fight the Empire and to complete Mira's training.

Following the defeat of the Empire, Cabba, with the help of Mira, founded the New Jedi Order, and began teaching Force-sensitives about the ways of the Force at the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4, fulfilling his wish on becoming the Grandmaster of the new Jedi. In the midst of this rebirth came numerous challenges for Cabba and his apprentices, including Vader's Sith apprentice Demigra, and the rise of the First Order. Even after death, his former Master Hit continued to guide him throughout the early days of the New Republic as a Force Ghost.
